The Villeroy & Boch Hull darts team has enjoyed a strong first season, securing promotion from Division Four to Division Three after finishing in the top five.
There were a number of standout performances across the squad. Brian Capon and Dan French won the Division Four Pairs final, while Mike Smelt and his “Blind Pairs” partner, county player Lee Parish, reached the final of their competition.
In the individual rankings, Brian finished fourth and Dan sixth out of 132 players, earning a place in the top 16 play-offs, where Dan progressed to the semi-finals. The team also recorded several notable checkouts, with Kelly Beazer hitting 107 (placing 10th out of 45), followed by Dan with 92, Chris Ahern with 72 and Emily Forde with 65.

There were also some firsts for newer players, with both Emily Forde and Kelly Beazer winning individual league games despite having no prior competitive experience.
As a team, performances improved steadily over the season. While the focus remains on a sociable evening, there is a growing competitive edge, with players pushing to improve their scoring and results each week.
Off the oche, there were a few memorable moments along the way, including a stray dart taking out a light fitting, a missing dart later recovered from behind a radiator, and a 12-hour darts marathon in aid of Macmillan, which raised funds for the charity.
