Twenty new members of Ideal Standard’s 25 Year Club were inducted into the esteemed circle of long-serving employees at the annual dinner.
Hosted by Plant Manager Mark Barrett and held at Aston Marina, the celebration recognised their dedicated service across the operations, distribution and commercial elements of the business.
It was also an opportunity to thank existing members of the 25 Year Club, some of whom have been working for the business for more than 40 years. The ages of all the employees in the room totalled 2,305 years!
New members joining this year were Steven Aspley, Martin Brown, Neil Cartwright, Terry Clewley, Steve Davis, Michael Dean, Ben Duggins, Jo Elwell, Nicholas Flannigan, Karen Gollagher, Daniel Molineux, Sara Money, Douglas Morris, Terry Moss, Anne Ogden, Graham Oliphant, Sandra Rogers, Steve Rowley, Tracey Stanley and Katy Thorpe.
Each was presented with a gift in recognition of their service and a video was shown to recall what was happening in the world and our business when they joined, in the year 2000.
Following a survey, the dinner had been moved to summer to allow employees from the plant who would be on shift to attend.
Mark said: “We were really pleased with the new venue, which has a less corporate feel. We were lucky with the weather as we had an outside decking area and people made the most of this all night.
“We’ve had some very positive feedback already from colleagues who enjoyed the way the evening is now more of a celebration than a formal dinner, and it was great to be able to honour the contribution to the business everybody has made over the years.”
