Clerkenwell Design Week 2023 was our most successful ever, with more than 900 visitors across the three days to our London Design and Specification Centre.
The UK’s leading independent design festival, the event saw London’s design and architecture community introduced to exciting new ranges, thanks to a number of newly installed displays.
These included our new Alu+ showering range, Solos ceramics, our brassware and showering offering and our new Gusto kitchen taps in all their colour finishes.
More than two thirds of those attending were from the target architecture and design community, with some members of the public plus bloggers and press. The visitor figure of 906 was almost double last year’s total of 500.
We also previewed the additions to our i.life range, showing i.life gloss grey ceramics and the new furniture configurations with open side unit and the new i.life vessel basin.
The LDSC team have created a Doc M “superloo” display (below), previewing our black grab rails, which earned a fantastic response from designers working in the non-residential sector.
There is also now a dedicated Singular area on the lower ground floor which is presented as a specification area for designers to get inspiration.
Activities across the three days included:
• Two smoothie mornings at the Gusto bar to promote the new kitchen taps
• A tile decorating workshop, working with London-based ceramics studio Social Pottery, resulting in beautifully decorated tiles that will be displayed at the LDSC before their creators are invited to collect them
• Thursday night party event, with a live DJ, food and cocktails. This featured our signature cocktail, the “Gusto Sour” a raspberry flavour gin sour topped with the Ideal Standard logo rings (below)
LDSC Senior Designer Yiota Toumba said: “A huge thank you to everyone who made the effort to support us here in person but also from afar. We truly appreciate all of your efforts to make this event a huge success.
“We had support from external sales across all channels, product management, various members of the UK and central marketing teams, our fantastic service engineers and our wonderful retail team, who helped us massively to make sure all products arrived here for installation in good time.”
She added: “What we do at the LDSC is all about giving Ideal Standard a profile among architects, designers and other potential customers in a marketplace with so much potential for us and Clerkenwell Design Week 2023 has certainly achieved that for our business.
“There are also more tangible outcomes like the significant number of leads our sales colleagues have to follow up on post-event so we are very excited to see the progression of those.”
The campaign to attract visitors was suppported by a comprehensive communications plan across printed and online industry publications and social media, achieving tens of thousands of impressions pre and post event on LinkedIn, Instagram and Pinterest.
Visitors across the three days were given a goodie bag with Together magazine, while at the party night a variety of herb plants were given out to tie into the Gusto bar theme and these were really well received by the party guests.
